One drug used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men is called Vilitra . Vardenafil, the active component, is a member of the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors pharmacological class. Vardenafil helps men obtain and sustain an erection by boosting blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, much like other PDE5 inhibitors including sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis).  Vilitra is often given orally, 25–60 minutes prior to sexual activity, with or without meals. Many hours may pass before the effects wear off.
