When this error occurs, Employer Identification Number (EIN) is connected to different account and the user is an active deposit on duplicate EIN number which is associated with another account. 

When this error occurs, a message appears on the screen: “QuickBooks has encountered an issue and must be closed immediately. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.” 

 

Causes for QuickBooks error 20102 

  • When the user has an active DD (Direct Deposit) on the Employer Identification Number, this error occurs. 

  • When the user tries to link to an EIN that is linked to a separate account directly. 

  • Inadequate installation of the QuickBooks program.

  • Damaged Windows registry.

  • While QuickBooks program property not mounted on the user’s PC. This may lead to the framework’s incompatibility to open the complete program due to specialized or human errors.

Solution 1: Fix the Registry Entries

  1. In the Search box, type Command.

  2. Select Command Prompt.

  3. Concurrently press CTRL + Shift + Enter keys.

  4. Click Yes on the Permission dialog box. A command prompt window appears on the screen with a flashing cursor.

  5. Type Regedit in the supplied area and press Enter.

  1. Locate and open the Registry Editor box on the desktop.

  2. Locate and mark the keys associated with the error.

  3. Make a backup folder for all the indicated files.

  4. From the File tab, select the option Export.

  1. Select a folder from which the file can be easily accessed.

  2. In the given file, type File Name.

  3. Opt for the Selected Branch option in the export range box.

  4. Save the file and proceed to the chosen file.

  5. The damaged registry files can be manually edited and repaired.

 

Solution 2: Use the File Doctor tool

  1. Install the QuickBooks tool hub program on the computer.

  2. Go to the tool hub and select the Company File problem.

  3. Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor key.
